Direct Trade

J. Arthur’s Coffee gets it’s coffee beans from sources that engage in ‘direct trade’ practices. What is direct trade?  Direct trade cuts out the traditional middlemen and allows roasters to work directly with the farmers who are growing the coffee beans. This allows the roasters to develop relationships with the farmers which results in a higher quality product as well as a fair price paid directly to the farmers.  Some of our staff have even had the pleasure of meeting some of the farmers in person! Sustainable Practices

Sustainable farming practices not only ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the same quality of life we enjoy today, but they also help improve the quality of the end products.  That’s why we partner with companies that engage and encourage these sustainable farming practices. Keep It Local

We believe in supporting our local farms and businesses whenever possible. Not only does this allow for us to support our local economy, it allows us to ensure that the ingredients we use are both fresh, and the highest possible quality for our customers. For this reason, we use dairy from Castle Rock Organic Farms in Osseo, WI . With the rising demand for organic, sustainable farming we felt it necessary to partner with a company that values wholesome, natural dairy products. Castle Rock is Certified Organic and produces various dairy products such as milk, several types of cheese and ice cream.  We are excited to partner with a group of people who are “committed to organic farming” and who “practice stewardship of land, body and soul.”

J. Arthur’s offers and uses Pure Maple Syrup from Waletzko Maple Farm in North Branch, Minnesota as well as Raw Grade A Honey from Ames Farm in Watertown, Minnesota. You can also find a selection of locally made toffees from Tizzy’s Sweet Treats, located in Roseville, MN.

Beginning 5/21/12, J. Arthur’s will begin selling delicious treats from Simply Cupcakes. Simply Cupcakes LLC is a local cupcake business that sources real, fresh and local ingredients to hand make three decadent lines of cupcakes from scratch. Their cupcake lines include Traditional Treat, Gluten Free Decadence and Paleo-Indulgence (grain free and dairy free).

J. Arthur’s also serves and sells tea from Tea Source.
